Privacy Policy

We recognize that visitors value the privacy of their information. To ensure broad privacy compliance, we have based our privacy practices on PIPEDA’s Fair Information Practices, the Guidelines of the Online Privacy Alliance (OPA), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the Direct Marketing Association (DMA). This statement is our commitment to your privacy and serves to support the industry’s best practices in favour of supporting Fair Information Practices.

Communication over the internet can lead to the inadvertent discovery or disclosure of electronically transmitted confidential messages. Because absolute security of information is not possible, interception or loss of information may occur. We strive to collect and retain as little information as possible about our visitors and subscribers. Our newsletter, the Cybersafety Sentinel, is sent to a long list of opt-in email addresses that we do not use for any other purpose. Subscription to this free service is optional and painless while unsubscribing only takes a second. Subscribers may notice that it is powered by a reputable service MailChimp. The newsletter itself is simply an email notification letting subscribers know that a new article has been posted on our site.

While we review the privacy policies and whenever possible, the practices of our partners and service providers, Informatica Canada has no visibility into the security preparedness of our visitors and thus cannot assume responsibility for the privacy practices of its users nor the content of other sites to which it is linked.

Our mailing address and contact information are listed here and our Privacy Officer can be reached via e-mail or by telephone. In addition to MailChimp, we also use Google services for site maintenance, Google’s Feedburner for RSS Feeds, diverse links to our social media channels and some web traffic tools provided by our hosting provider, 1and1 Internet. Should you feel that any associated site does not live up to your privacy expectations, please let us know.

For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server automatically recognizes no information regarding the domain or e-mail address. We collect aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit but no information on consumers who browse our Web page. We do not set or use any cookies.

We strive to make our privacy practices simple and transparent. If you supply us with your postal address on-line you will only receive the information for which you provided us your address. Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers on-line will only receive telephone contact from us with information regarding orders they have placed on-line.

We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies. We encourage our visitors and clients to do the same, and notify us immediately should they have any concerns about the privacy of their personal information. If our own information practices change at some time in the future we will notify you if your information will be impacted in any way, and you’ll have the option to opt out well ahead of time.

Consumers, clients and visitors can have their information corrected by sending us e-mail at the above address, calling us at the above telephone number or writing to us at the above address.

If you feel that this site is not following its stated information policy, you may contact us at the above addresses or phone number and we promise to address the issue in a timely and complete manner.
